In the evening, I faced a challenge setting up SharePoint 2013 on a server with 2008 R2 Enterprise. A problem popped up similar to what others encounter when installing on 2012 R2, especially concerning IIS and ASP. The message I received was: "Application Server Role, Web Server (IIS) Role: configuration error." By examining the logs, we found more details but still limited. The entries show timestamps and requests for installation times, yet no clear solution appears to fit my setup. After five hours of troubleshooting, no one seems to have a working fix. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
