Hey friends, I changed my 3900x to a 5800x in my B550 Aorus Elite AX V2, but it’s not showing any video or posting. I’ve tried everything I can think of—flashing the BIOS before installing, reseating RAM, checking all cables, clearing CMOS. But when I installed the new CPU, the screen stays black. After turning it back on, the issue persists. The fans work fine, but there’s still no video output. When I power it up again, it boots normally, yet nothing appears. I’m really confused and need help. Is my motherboard damaged? Also, I sometimes force shut down by holding the power button, but that doesn’t seem to fix anything.
When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's standard to provide complete system details. List the specifications as follows:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Include the PSU age along with its make and model.
BIOS version for your motherboard at this time.
How long you kept the system running during the black screen? Consider removing the RAM and resetting the CMOS using the steps in the manual rather than disconnecting the CMOS battery. Once done, reinstall the RAM and power up. Keep the system on for a few minutes even without a display, letting the motherboard reconfigure the new CPU and initialize the RAM. That should resolve it.
