Installed an M.2 SSD in the B450m Pro4 motherboard and it remains stuck on the boot screen.
Hello! I tried updating the BIOS to the latest version (P3.5) for her CPU and changed everything to legacy mode, but it didn’t help. When I put the M.2 SSD into her system it worked perfectly. I also managed to boot from BIOS using her SSD on my PC. My PC has the same motherboard but a different CPU (Ryzen 5 2600X) and BIOS version (P.1.2). Unfortunately, I can’t change the BIOS version on her motherboard. I’m really stuck and need advice quickly—otherwise I might have to return it before the return window closes. Thanks in advance!
I believe just one of the M.2 ports is compatible with SATA SSDs while others only work with NVMe SSDs. Verify you're choosing the correct option, see https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M Pro4/index.asp#Specification using m.2 slot for sata ssd disables SATA3_3 slot
I confirmed it's in the correct position. I also tested the alternative version just to verify. As mentioned, I'm using the same motherboard on my PC, and after changing components, everything functions normally except for the NVMe SSD and this particular board.
It looks like there isn't another choice but to return the SSD and try something else, which a user helped with on Reddit.
