I got a 2nd hand 5900x and installed it on a B550 mobo. Now the mobo's not lighting up. I think there's no power getting to it because when I reinstalled my 3600, the mobo's rgb lights go back on. I do believe I updated the mobo to a BIOS that supports 5000 series (BIOS version 3002). I tried resetting the CMOS as well. Now I'm stumped. What else can I do, if any? Is the 5900x the issue? Can I save/repair it? RELEVANT SPECS: AMD R5 3600 ASUS TUF B550M Plus WiFi BIOS version 3002 Seasonic 1000W PSU

It seems the CPU is no longer functioning. You might want to consider testing it on another machine.

No, a dead CPU doesn’t prevent power or booting—it just won’t recognize the socket. It can still receive power and start up, but it won’t identify the component as properly installed.

When the board connects to another CPU, the faulty CPU is likely the one causing the shutdown...
