I now have four drives, after upgrading I added a 480GB BX500, which is causing some strange problems. In certain situations, a single drive would disappear from Windows. It used to be my 2TB game drive and now it’s the newly added one. After completing five stages of chkdsk, everything worked fine, but when installing games it would crash and then vanish, three times with two different games. I’ve tried changing SATA ports or cables, but nothing helped.

Review the motherboard guide, as certain models have shared connections. Adding an M.2 slot might block a SATA connection, and mixing devices could cause either option to fail unpredictably.
