Windows installation repeats endlessly. PC appears to be stuck in an infinite Windows setup. BIOS on SATA hot-plugged drive was activated. After completion, I remove the drive but see a blue screen. HDD isn’t listed in Boot Options. Anyone know how to resolve this? Also using a USB with Ms Media Creator for Windows installation. Hardware specs: Msi Pro Z690-A, Intel i5-12600k, 2x8GB RAM, G.Skill RAM, MSI GeForce GTX 1060, WD Caviar Blue 1TB, WD Green 128GB.

Confirm if you're setting up Windows on the HDD. You might want to disconnect it to avoid any accidental writing of your files, then proceed with the SSD installation. After launching the desktop, use Disk Management to create partitions and format the drive for secondary use. Also, verify whether the SSD is a WD Green M.2 or a 2.6" model. If it's M.2, check your motherboard manual to ensure the slot doesn't interfere with the HDD's SATA port. In many scenarios, the M.2 slot can occupy the space of one of your larger SATA ports.

I'll attempt it, but after disconnecting my HDD no other devices show up. In BIOS priority, neither the SSD nor the HDD appears.

You selected a M.2 slot, but the Pro Z690-A is compatible with SATA SSDs only in slots 3 and 4.

I switched my SSD to slot 3 and removed the HDD from both the power supply and the motherboard.

No, the BIOS and Windows installer haven't recognized your SSD yet.
