Installation of Maximus V extreme windows service
Use Microsoft’s Download Assistant to create a bootable USB stick. Navigate to your boot settings and choose the USB drive to start. Windows installation will begin automatically. Your device should support a simple UEFI interface allowing a single click on the desired drive. If not, adjust boot priorities in Boot Options, set "removable media" as the first boot device (it may have a different name). You might also need to turn on legacy boot for older Windows versions. Always connect via USB 2.0 ports, avoid 3.0 or case header ports. Do not attempt to install Windows 7 or earlier on an M.2 drive, since the required drivers aren’t available.
I believe the issue lies with the motherboard, so I’ll replace it. Thanks for the assistance!
I'm working with an Asus Maximus V Extreme board running BIOS v1802. I'm attempting to install Windows 11 using a GPT partition for two days. I've adjusted every BIOS setting to disable CSM and enable UEFI, which removed Secure Boot. The installation worked fine on an MBR partition but not on the GPT one. My SSD was already partitioned as GPT. Anyone has any advice or experience with this setup? Your help would be greatly appreciated!
