Have you considered using another port on the motherboard for the USB? When connecting to a USB 2.0 port, switch it to USB 3.0 and the other way around.

I've tested connecting the USB to all available ports on my MOBO. The specs include a TUF gaming B550M Plus, Ryzen 5 2600, 500W power supply, RX 580, and 64-bit support.
