Laptop Model: MacBook Pro 13" Late 2011 (click). Installing the newest Mac OS X on a fresh drive is a clean setup from scratch. Do I need to buy it at the Apple Store or can I do it myself? The old drive still works, but cloning isn't possible because we detected malware. Thanks!

I'm sorry, but I don't know how to install Mac OS X on a new drive. Could you clarify if you're referring to installing it on a Mac or another system?

Get a recovery image from Apple or another source, then place it on a USB drive. Boot from the USB and go through the installation steps.

Get the newest MacOS from the Apple Store on your MacBook, make a bootable USB stick using it, and then install MacOS onto that drive.
