Installation fails on Asus X99 RAID 0 setup.
You're facing an installation issue with Windows on your Asus X99-Deluxe build. The error indicates the system can't boot from the specified drive, possibly due to hardware limitations or incorrect controller settings. You've configured RAID 0 on both SSDs and have a separate HDD, but the BIOS still flags the disk as unsupported. Updating drivers and BIOS doesn't resolve the problem. Consider checking the drive controllers in the BIOS menu, ensuring they're enabled and compatible with your hardware. If unsure, consult official Asus support or a professional for further assistance.
Press the "X" button, click Delete on the HDD, then select New and attempt the installation again.
I believe you're referring to the setup process for your SDDs. Drive 0 is your storage devices, but since partition 1 isn't set up, I can't remove it. I've attempted to delete the partition, loaded the RAID drivers, and created the partitions, yet the issue continues. It seems there might be a misunderstanding in how you're following the instructions. After selecting the "Custom" path and deleting all partitions, you should end up with one unified selection. Clicking "New" will then generate the Recovery, System, and MSR partitions automatically. Once this completes (which usually takes a few seconds), proceed to the next step. Windows will handle the rest and restart, sometimes multiple times depending on your hardware. Regarding your question about the disk format: the error might relate to how the system interprets the partition layout or file system type. Please clarify if you meant something specific here.
Review the video for three possible explanations. Your UEFI is configured for secure boot, but you lack a dedicated secure boot partition. This prevents the system from starting. In the image, there appears to be just one partition present. Something seems off, or the driver configuration might be incorrect.
I'm getting my drivers from the X99-DELUXE/U3.1 page which matches my motherboard. I've watched your video and I cannot see anything that you do differently from me. I am not sure why the other recovery partitions and such aren't showing, but I've never had a formatted or newly built have those partitions. I have only see those on pre-installed computers. Here is a video from my BIOS settings to the Windows driver load and Windows installation: https://www.dropbox.com/s/g4synm9vq0bh9v...6.mp4?dl=0 I've also tried installing Windows 8 and Windows 10 with a UEFI USB using Rufus and neither worked.
I’ve tried all possible solutions. Previously, I used the Media Creation Tool and switched RAID to AHCI. When installing Windows, the extra partitions appeared when I clicked "New." They don’t form during errors, though. My investigation points to a problem with the RAID configuration or driver issues—not the Windows installation itself. Still, I’m stuck figuring it out.
I understand the issue. To clarify the solution, I need some details—what operating system you were using before? Was the Compatibility Support Module turned off in the UEFI settings?
