I used to heavily modify my Windows XP setup *cough*. It performed perfectly for me without any complications. My approach minimized problems compared to others who relied on official updates. However, this might be because Russian authorities safeguard their systems or because keyboard users are inexperienced. With modified versions, I consistently discovered a helpful serial number and/or bypass tool. I suspect this applies to newer operating systems as well. Since you plan to use it offline, it should be sufficient for even someone with limited knowledge to obtain a modified copy of Windows XP. (And what would Microsoft think anyway... or back then?) Just a reminder about past actions: this is extremely illegal and could result in serious consequences from Microsoft or any agency. *PS: I’d rather join a bot network or mine quietly than expose myself to Microsoft spyware.*
