Linux can support running games such as GTA, Far Cry, Minecraft, CS:GO and others, depending on the available software and system configuration.

Surprised to find many triple A games now compared to just two years ago. You’ll need to review each match carefully. Also, there’s a Linux Wine solution (Windows emulator) that lets you run many Windows apps and games. https://www.winehq.org/ https://www.linux.com/learn/tutorials/83...s-on-linux I’m not an expert in Linux—I’ve just tried it out. There are definitely more knowledgeable folks here who can help with tougher questions.

The cause of lag isn't clear, but likely involves: a Linux-based OS, a poorly optimized Linux kernel, or inefficient OpenGL usage if the game was built with DirectX. If porting to OpenGL is done, it may demand significant changes since some features work better in one format over the other. Optimization gaps could stem from developer decisions on OpenGL code or shaders, or from suboptimal driver support for your graphics card. For now, sticking with older titles should suffice.
