you can likely use the windows on your new system. the key and disc you have should work, even if the motherboard has issues. regarding the oem status, since your laptop came from dell, it’s possible it was an original equipment manufacturer build, but you can check the product details or contact dell support to confirm.

Try this method. Visit the provided link and follow the steps. Use the key to enable your product before selling your PC. Phone activation on the new machine should function properly. This worked for me, and I successfully transferred a Windows 7 Pro key from Sony Laptop to a custom PC.

I didn't receive any information about a phone call for activation or a specific phone number. Could you clarify if you're referring to a previous interaction or need assistance with something else?

Activating your phone is a seamless process. You won’t need to speak to any representatives. After entering the installation ID, it will provide the activation ID automatically. The system handles everything on its own.

I didn't receive a call, so I don't have a customer care number to reference.

To activate Windows 7, open the Start menu, right-click on Computer, select Properties, then choose Activate Windows now. Select an alternative activation method from the options. Enter your product key when prompted and proceed to the next step. Choose the automated phone system, provide any required credentials, and pick a nearby location from the list. Dial one of the listed phone numbers. An automated guide will walk you through the process. When asked for confirmation, input the installation ID shown on your screen into the phone keypad. Record the confirmation code given. Input it in the designated field during Step 3 and continue following the instructions. If activation fails, remain on the line to connect with a support representative.
