The installation can be handled using UEFI, and you don’t need special changes for the connected SSD. Just ensure everything is properly connected before starting.

Can this be achieved via the UEFI? Yes, if you're referring to booting from the UEFI BIOS, it's possible. You typically don't need to modify the SSD unless specified. Just connect the USB and install Windows.

Load Windows onto the USB drive using Rufus, start from the USB, perform a custom installation, and when prompted to choose drives, simply click once on your SSD—no need to create a new partition—and proceed to Install.

the problem seems to be missing a DVD drive. You moved your system to a NZXT H440 with an SSD, connected a 5.25-inch drive via the SATA port along with the SSD, placed it on top of the case, installed Windows 8, and then connected your storage drive after installation. Everything is working now. Just need a DVD player and a copy of Windows 8 to use it.

The problem involves transferring Windows 8 to a flash drive and ensuring the correct installation method is used. You should use Rufus for forced UEFI installation, then boot from the drive in your UEFI/BIOS settings—either full UEFI or prioritized settings. Confirm the correct configuration before starting.
