I own a PC with a B360M motherboard from MSI featuring a Kaby Lake chipset. My goal is to set up Windows 7 instead of Windows 10. The official support only covers Windows 10, so I need guidance on installing Windows 7 directly. For driver issues, the IObit driver booster has resolved the problem.

Usually these setups turn out quite problematic. You generally need a PS2 keyboard with a CD for installation or a USB with modified drivers. There are tools to push updates through, but Windows 10 is much more secure and efficient. Also, the Kaby Lake CPU won’t fit on this board—it only works with Coffee Lake.

I don't prefer Windows 10. The backup tool Norton Ghost isn't available in that version!

I dislike Windows 10. I prefer Windows 7. My older computers from the 4th generation run Windows 7, I don't like Windows 8, 8.1 and 10. Windows 10 causes issues with programs like CorelDraw X3, Microsoft Office 2010...etc.

Other backup tools exist, Norton Ghost offers ten support options. Make sure you're not using KABY LAKE on a B360 board—it won't function.

Set up Windows 7 on your system and see how it functions. It should operate without major problems. However, you may encounter several challenges with drivers and overlook certain functionalities. Overall, I don’t think it’s a worthwhile endeavor.

If you only need to use old software and operating systems, purchasing a used or older computer is a good option.
