You're facing a few challenges here. First, obtaining the Windows 2000 ISO for Service Pack 4 on a VMware machine can be tricky, especially with current internet issues and browser compatibility problems. Second, transferring files between your PC and the VMware environment might be affected by outdated web standards or network conditions. If you need help, look into official VMware support channels or community forums for guidance on installing SP4 on Windows 2000 in a VMware setup.

Remember that you must also possess a product key. I won’t assist you in acquiring one.

Save it for another operating system and access it via a network share on the 2000 VM.

As discussed, moving files isn't possible. Attempted to use the flash drive, but Windows 2000 doesn't recognize it and lacks compatible drivers.

The network adapter seems functional. If needed, you could install it on another virtual machine using its second disk, copy necessary files, and then restart or boot into Linux to obtain SP4.

1. Which VMware release are you employing? Workstation or EXI?
2. You can load the ISO from the Windows 2000 SP4 DVD and install it within the running VMware environment.
3. For bare metal installation, USB installation should work, though your BIOS might resist; if needed, burn to DVD/CD.
4. When using ESXi, simply connect to the host via vSphere and transfer the file there.

Sure, I created a file in ISO format and used it as a CD.
