When searching online, previous attempts succeeded, though the main point is the drive needs formatting to NTFS, which isn't too critical.

I plan to try it again tomorrow... For now... I’m re-downloading the 32-bit file... It was damaged before because the internet connection dropped unexpectedly... (size mismatch)...

It’s not feasible to set up any Windows version (up to Windows 7 or uncertain beyond) on a USB device. Even an external hard drive hasn’t worked for me.

Windows 7 functions properly during installation via USB, it seems. I assume Vista would work similarly.

Absolutely, you can set up Windows 10 via USB just like with other versions. I've tried it myself.
