Install via BIOS settings directly.
Hello, I'm facing issues with transferring my old hard drive and installing a new system. My PC now runs Intel architecture, not AMD, and I only had one formatted drive before. When I tried to move it over, the process failed. Someone suggested a fresh installation is necessary after upgrading the operating system. My concern is that I only have one drive left, and I'm unsure how to perform a fresh install if I erase it. If anyone can assist, it would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I no longer have the AMD setup, and these are my specs. Also sorry for the brief update. https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/9YbDTH I have an i5 Kabylake but need to download the BIOS firmware and update it for Gen 7 CPUs.
the post is difficult to understand because of the wording used. what operating system does windows have? if you changed the motherboard, did you log in with an MS account? some systems may not allow changing the motherboard and you might need a different key. however, windows should support this change. you just need to install windows using a usb drive or dvd.
Obtain a Windows 10 installation USB drive, then proceed with the setup. There is an opportunity to erase your storage during the installation phase.
I dislike Windows 8 through 10 and mostly work on Windows 7, which I have a disc for.
