Install SSD on Windows 8 using UEFI or BIOS settings
Have you thought about whether this might not be related to the SSD? It’s possible your heatsink is faulty and the CPU is overheating. To determine if the problem lies with the SSD, try booting the system from its DVD or a USB drive. If it functions properly, the issue is likely elsewhere. Otherwise, it could be something else entirely. Right now, any cause could be unclear, and without further testing it’s hard to fix. If the SSD isn’t the problem, consider taking the PC to a specialist. If it is, try swapping the SATA connector—it might be defective. Don’t follow advice to change it to IDE; my SSD has worked well for two years with AHCI support. If the new connection doesn’t help, the SSD could be damaged and you should bring it in for repair.
It seems the issue isn't with the CPU, but possibly the cable. I haven’t tested it yet, but I’m leaning toward software problems. The SSD has kept the system running smoothly for weeks before the motherboard and CPU changed. During testing, I meant adjusting BIOS settings, which worries me from a hardware standpoint, though not from a software one. I don’t want to damage anything due to random BIOS configurations I made up. Another case is that I haven’t worked with UEFI settings recently—my last build was about two and a half years ago. With Windows 8 and the boot drive setup, plus my new motherboard, I feel like I’ve become somewhat outdated in terms of knowledge over the past few years.
