Using a controller for several fans doesn't affect performance negatively; it ensures all connected fans operate at the same speed. I have six fans, but the BIOS only identifies two due to limited motherboard channels. Four pins handle PWM control, letting the motherboard adjust fan speeds. Not entirely certain about that, but you can check diskmgmt.msc to confirm the SSD is started and properly formatted.

Is your SSD listed in Drive Manager? Update: Sorry, I didn’t see Solrr Flarr mention it. (If there are two fans on the motherboard, I’d install them.)

It turned out the drive needed formatting and a letter assignment in disk management. A new fan was installed, and everything is now working. Thank you!
