Hi all,
Can we set up software installation for the current user account exclusively on Windows 11 Pro? I have a PC with several user accounts and wish to install the software just for my own account. The installer doesn’t offer an option to target only the current user or all users. Right now I’m the sole admin, but I also want to find out if it’s feasible even with multiple admin accounts present.

What software?
Typically, you have two choices:
Install for Everyone
or
Install for just this user
If the software doesn't offer that choice, your options are limited.
In truth, the main distinction lies in where the shortcut is saved.
With "for everyone", the shortcut appears in the /Public directory.
For the current user, it remains accessible only to them.
All necessary files are generated wherever required, such as Program Files or other locations.

It seems like you're asking if it's feasible to create an empty user profile for every user, excluding certain software, and ensuring that each one starts fresh.

It seems unclear about the meaning of "empty user profile." You're asking if a new user should start with a blank profile but already have some applications installed. But you also mention that you can't set up anything for a user who doesn't exist yet.

This refers to a user profile created without any previously installed software on other profiles. It means a fresh account but without the manually added programs. Standard Microsoft applications are acceptable, and you can remove anything you need. If I create a new profile now, the earlier software will remain there, which is not what I want.

Certainly. Only items pre-installed for general use will be accessible to a new account.
