Just pair via bluetooth or use a USB cable. Be warned, there is a bug with ps4 contoller pairing with recent kernels, so try out a lts kernel if bluetooth doesn't work.

I have a longiTech wired controller that functions perfectly out of the box on Steam and various games. I also use it for playing Pokémon Sun and Moon on the Citra emulator.

Steam manages everything well. I switched the light bar to my preferred color, though I had to connect it for the first time. Once it was plugged in, it worked perfectly.

Calculates the result based on your input method. For Hydraw, consider installing the steam-devices package. With Steam Games and X.org input, you might only require libinput.
