Based on MSFS 2020, the most probable method to run MSFS 2024 on a Mac without cloud services is using virtualization software like VMware or Parallels. Alternatively, you could explore game porting tools designed for cross-platform compatibility. Windows virtualization might also work if available.

The top choice is a Windows machine meeting the essential specs. Otherwise, the same solutions for 2020 should still apply, but you'll need to investigate further and adapt accordingly. This is especially true if you aim to run it on Mac hardware. I should also mention that with an M1 or newer Mac, ARM-based systems may not support it. You'll have to use cloud streaming or create a Windows PC like others.

The suggested tools don't align well with x86 emulation since they introduce extra processing demands.

Even with the ability to use the game porting toolkit, I doubt performance would improve much. It looks like the 2020 release isn't functioning properly in GPT either, so I won’t be optimistic. The most likely path forward would be if Microsoft focuses on the upcoming ARM laptop lineup, which might increase chances of compatibility with Parallels.

Thanks to the latest Snapdragon X plus and X elite processors, along with growing support for Windows 11 ARM, it would be logical for Asobo Studio to release a native Windows ARM version of MSFS 2024. This would simplify running the game on Macs equipped with Apple Silicon.

I understand there are many layers and extra settings, but this has always been part of Mac gaming. Running it smoothly at 1080p with a steady 30fps would really be great.

Absolutely, it's clear Mac gamers are flexible—they're ready to trade performance and graphics for the games they enjoy.

Certainly, though it affects efficiency, making it less optimal.
