Insane GPU % being used?
Back then I used an MSI z370 A pro mobile with the Intel Core I# 8100, and never faced GPU crashes or memory issues. After upgrading to a Tuf Gaming X570 Plus with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600, I often encounter errors when loading textures, causing the game to crash. I'm currently running an MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6gb, and even after uninstalling Steam from my SSD and switching to my HDD, the problem persists. Squad shouldn't be consuming all of my GPU resources, should it?
Given that you've upgraded the CPU, the game will now fully use the GPU. Previously, you were limited by your CPU, with 100% usage and only 40% on the GPU. That was normal, but now the crashers are not happening. I would consider uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics drivers.
Thank you for the information, and I'm pleased to note that I have two days until my 1070 Ti arrives. However, the good news right now is that I enabled Vsync, which significantly reduced GPU usage by around 40%. I can adjust the settings now, but I haven't tested them in the game yet and will provide an update. If another crash occurs, I'll reinstall my drivers and try again.
in a well balanced setup, the gpu needs to be fully utilized. There might be another issue with drivers or a game that isn't optimized. Have you reinstalled windows after switching from intel to amd? also, are there ram slots 2 and 4 available, and is docp turned on in bios?
I never bought windows and I don’t know how to reinstall it. Also, I’m not sure what docp is, and yes, I have 16gbs of 2x8 RAM.
It's wise to reinstall windows after switching motherboards. Record your current windows key, create a bootable usb from the microsoft site, and install it using your existing key. When you enter bios, you'll find an option to enable docp, which activates the ram profile for optimal performance.
I haven't paid for windows, so I'm sure you can still do the installation.
