I just upgraded my PC and am experiencing more frequent FPS drops than before. Current specs: i3-4170, GTX 1060, 3GB RAM, 8GB DDR3, 1TB HDD, 550W power supply, Deepcool case, ASRock H97M motherboard. When playing Rust, FPS drops from 70-100 to 1-20 for a few seconds every few seconds. I need advice on fixing this issue and also want to know how to prepare for the upcoming i7-4790 upgrade.

It's probably due to your CPU limiting the GPU performance. An i3 isn't suitable for a 1060.

It's just old rust; you must install 16GB of RAM to prevent those frame rate drops

I understand, but I've noticed a lot of videos showing users with similar GPUs like i3 3240 and GTX 1060 3GB achieving stable frame rates without as many stutters as I do.

He uses a GTX 950 paired with an i5 processor and 4GB of RAM, which seems to run much more efficiently compared to your setup.

rust is a poorly constructed game; it’s true. I struggled with it using a 4790k and a 1080p screen.

Did your GPU performance improve when those frame rates slowed? Run Rust and monitor MSI Afterburner at the exact moments of lag to identify any changes.

The clip is available everywhere, but performance drops when using more powerful systems. Increased rendering distance becomes an issue only under heavier hardware loads.

I'm feeling a bit worn out right now, and the group is quite small—just 20 members.

The issue lies with your CPU, sorry. Videos are meaningless without a proper method.
