I reviewed Linus' video about the "This must be fake" discussion for i9 7920x at a low price. It mentioned compatibility with X299 boards, but many sold boards cost over $300. I'm targeting a budget of $100–$200 and noticed most don't have display ports. Should I explore alternatives like converters, or use the GPU alone? Checked the video for guidance on this issue.

The i9 7920x lacks built-in graphics, so that wouldn't be an issue

They're simply assuming anyone who gets an X299 board is using a discrete GPU.

Aim for an affordable eBay card such as a NVIDIA NVS 310 if you only need a screen.
