I possess an ASUS Maximus VI Extreme, though it's outdated and I can't upgrade for money. Inside the box I spotted a small device. Should I use this to fit an M.2 SSD? Others said my board doesn’t support M.2 due to missing slots. The ASUS page also mentioned something about M.2 combos. Would a Kingston A2000 (500GB) or any NVMe drive work here?

It seems the system might not be recognized without BIOS capabilities. You’d likely need a specific M.2 SSD form factor rather than the usual 2280 size. These compact drives are pricier and might not fit standard setups. Any board with PCIe ports can host an M.2 with an adapter, but booting requires BIOS support.
