There is some interesting people stating on twitter + YT saying that
demanding games for the pc sell worst than the console counterpart & that they get big game sale numbers only from crap or old games.
Seems like everybody is agreeing with it I've been trying to debunk this by looking for sale numbers for many demanding pc games released over the 2-year period but all i get is general sales. Either I'm not a good researcher or just simply need to dig deeper. Can anybody verify if this is true?

more individuals own consoles than gaming PCs, which means console games generally perform better in sales. Still, it's likely they maintain solid revenue from PC players who run tougher titles, though at a much smaller scale.

It probably doesn't make much difference that these days, numerous "demanding games" are released on PC several months after the console launch. This means anyone interested had already done so before.
... If it ever gets a release on PC, that would be ideal.
In general, we don't have concrete sales figures for PC copies of any games.
There are methods to approximate those numbers, such as SteamSpy,
but there are also games with multiplayer features, which many people purchase on consoles to enjoy locally with friends.

It’s probably more of just an echo chamber of people agreeing with each other. I guess it also depends on what you mean by demanding.
Sure demanding games limit the potential sales, but if there’s a will there’s a way. People will still often play below spec at low frame rates just to play the games. demanding games always sell well on the pc.

A bit of a follow-up, I asked them for the evidence behind their statements. They suggested checking the sales figures on Google... But I mentioned I hadn’t managed to locate strong demand data for PC games and politely asked if they could share a link or source that backs up their claims. They kept pushing me around and didn’t provide any references.

You might want to figure out what makes a game challenging, then match it with games that fit that idea to check the outcomes. It only takes a few titles to challenge the assumption.
Uncertain if this discussion is really useful for you. Do you think there’s value in supporting demanding game sales?

I was discussing games that require a lot of graphics or are very "computer-heavy," such as metro exodus. They've been using it to show that most PC gamers don't play at high or ultra settings, just with weaker machines. I raised some concerns about how many agreed with this view and thought it might be misleading people.

Well yeah, most PC gamers don't play at high/ultra settings, that's common sense. Otherwise we'd all be buying new computers every year or two.
Also, for Metro Exodus... It was discontinued on steam after selling between 200 000 and 500 000 copies...  EPIC claim it sold 2.5 times more than Metro Last Light.
Last Light had sold between 2,000,000 and 5,000,000 copies on PC according to SteamSpy.
This means that Metro Exodus sold between 5,200,000 and 12,500,000 copies on PC. Takes these numbers with a grain of salt.
Now ask them to give actual console numbers and not opinions.

Attempted to find detailed console figures for Exodus and other high-end titles, but only general sales data was available. They directed me to request precise numbers and provided links, which they refused to use unless I learned proper Google search techniques and avoided my questions. I believe this is the right time to stop asking and accept their lack of evidence supporting their claims, especially when comparing system sales figures.
