I bought an EVGA 1070 and received a code for Gears of War 4. They asked me to use it on their site, but they didn’t explain much beyond needing my Microsoft account. I’m assuming they’ll connect the game to my account. Since I wasn’t really into the series, I was hoping to trade or sell it to buy Dark Souls 3 instead. What happens when I click redeem after logging in with my Microsoft account? Will there be an option to save it as a gift copy? If I want to try selling or trading, should I keep it in gift code form now? I’m not sure what I’m doing and really want to use the code to get another game.

It seems there might be a restriction preventing you from selling the game, possibly related to an EULA policy.

I didn't consider that before. It seems there might be an option available for selling it. I should still be able to trade it, at least.

they’re unlikely to prevent you from exchanging the key with your neighbor for another one or for other tasks like mowing the lawn. Their goal is simply to stop these keys from falling into the wrong hands, which could misuse them for personal gain.

I bought GoW4 last week after receiving a 1070. It wasn’t too complicated, but there were a few steps involved. You need to create an account with evga, share a receipt, and then wait for them to verify it before they send you a code for the nvidia site.
