I'll let you know it won't run at 60 fps in multiplayer. When playing King of the Hill with 80 players, I get around 20-30 fps in the AO. With fewer than 30 players, you might hit 50 fps, though the game is quite CPU-intensive. Your PC should handle it without issues.

We're discussing the game settings for these FPS titles—low, medium, high—and I'm not sure what AO stands for or what the actual mode is. I think you're referring to a king of hills setting, but the details are unclear.

All adjustments provide the same FPS as the DLC version. It only restricts your ability to drive or control vehicles. I’d choose Tanoa because it’s a decent map.

The DLC adds value if you enjoy survival mods and they're discounted. Discovering a Helicopter in Exile without DLC is frustrating for me. I'm a big fan of Tanoa and the APEX expansion. I'd purchase the APEX version because it's on sale and includes all the DLC for the price of the full game. My setup gave me around 25 FPS with a 980 OCed, 4790K on KOTH with 100 players on Ultra while streaming via GFE.

The numbers stay relatively stable even with many players; single-player modes work just fine. AO focuses on the main objective, drawing most participants and leading to lag issues.

The only adjustments that really matter for me are view distance and anti-aliasing.

Thanks for the info. The main game has one open map similar to GTA, while Apex and Tanoa offer two separate open maps for play. All these maps share similar missions like co-op, PvP, and roleplaying.

The core game includes two maps by default (actually three), named Altis, Stratis, and a virtual reality feature that doesn’t really matter. The campaign is mediocre, and custom mods let players create their own stories, PVP, RPG elements, etc. APEX is the biggest update, featuring Tanoa map, vehicles, weapons, and a decent campaign that isn’t terrible. The APEX edition of ARMA 3 bundles Arma 3, the Apex Expansion, plus three smaller DLCs adding helicopters, snipers, and go-karts. These are all the currently available DLCs for the game, priced at $30—more than what I spent on the Apex Expansion and two Arma 3 purchases.
