You currently have a 10700F and are considering switching to a 11900K. Your motherboard is a TUF GAMING B460M-PLUS (WI-FI). Check if it supports the newer chipset or features for compatibility.

I'll review the latest bios revision to see what's required for 11900K. I expect the B460M-Plus will face challenges with power delivery at that voltage. These chips are extremely demanding, needing a lot of power.

I'm mainly aiming for an upgrade instead of swapping out the motherboard at this time. Replacing it would only take me to the 13th generation.

Sure, it seems like you want to move forward with the update. Just tweak the bios and you'll be all set.
