I'm sensing the performance is low, aiming close to 40k. I've checked SMT and other settings in the bios. The PTM7950 wasn't burned in, but temperatures never exceed about 85°C during peak testing. It might be due to the speed. How should I properly test my CPU to confirm it's functioning? And what factors could be affecting this? Average idle temps are around 45-47°C.

Here are the details you should share about your system to ensure accurate testing and troubleshooting. Please include all relevant specifications in the same format: CPU, cooler, motherboard, RAM, SSD/HDD, GPU, PSU, chassis, OS, monitor, age of PSU, and BIOS version.

It looks like the setup is fine.
Consider executing the cpu-Z benchmark.
You should achieve approximately 8445, with a single-thread score near 776:
https://valid.x86.fr/bench/36chpa
The primary purpose of a X3D chip is gaming, which relies heavily on single-thread performance.

I visited the cpu-z bench page but couldn't start any benchmark. Edit: I discovered the button. I'll share the results once completed.
Single thread shows 825 and multi 6082. The multi-core count seems low, even though it lists 8 threads and 8 cores. My motherboard has SMT enabled by default.
I'm using the x3d AI feature on my Gigabyte board. Could this be affecting performance? I'll disable it to test.
Edit: Now it's 795 with about 7500 multithreads—an improvement. Single thread is slightly better, though.
Passmark has reached around 40k, matching the x3d turbo setting.

Open msconfig by pressing Windows key + R, type msconfig, click Boot, then Advanced Options. Ensure the "Number of processors" box is unchecked. If it was previously checked and removed, restart your computer. Check the task manager to confirm all cores are displayed now.

The AIx3d on the gigabyte motherboard is now operating at standard speeds. It lowers the CPU to just 8 threads, which results in a slower performance but improves single-core efficiency.
