I'm working on setting up a server with Ubuntu Server 24.04. The issue is that without a GPU it fails to start, even though everything looks normal when you connect the GPU. I tried using my 3060 from my main PC for troubleshooting and it worked then. After removing the GPU and restarting, it didn't respond at all—no network signal, fans running, power on. Could this motherboard not boot without a GPU? Are there any fixes or cheaper alternatives? Thanks ahead!

Specs: Mobo: Asus Prime B550m-a Wifi II CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 RAM: Corsair LPX 32gb DDR4 3200mhz PSU: Corsair CX650M

Looking for the most affordable GPU, but be aware it might stop working right away during video checks because the CPU lacks built-in graphics.

Consider replacing the CPU with an APU such as the 4600G or 5500GT. Check the BIOS settings for options that allow skipping certain verification steps to enable booting without peripherals.

This turned out to be successful. I went shopping for the most affordable GPU available and now everything is functioning smoothly.
