Initiating Linux installation from a USB drive.
I acquired this compact 64GB USB stick, but facing problems starting it. I suspect the partition setup might be the issue. In the boot menu, it only displays "Samsung Flash Drive 1100" and the GRUB loads into recovery. The "Shitdows Installer" partition contains a Windows 10 installer, while on the Trusty Arch I want to use Arch Live. Any assistance would be invaluable. The Arch Installer is marked as bootable.
I thought about something similar too, really appreciate it. I'm going to do that now.
I planned to use rEFInd but it doesn’t matter to me, so I’ll give it a shot. It wouldn’t be an issue if I can’t have a Windows Installer on it. Wouldn’t be a big deal if I couldn’t install on the drive. Intended to assist someone building their PC, but thought I could leave it on the USB. Edited: Ended up spending hours doing a hackintosh setup.
