Hello, I switched my motherboard from an ASRock B450 Gaming-ITX/AC to the ASUS ROG Strix B550-I mainly because the ASROCK board wouldn't shut down by itself after power off. This setup is what I have: Ryzen 5 3600, HyperX Fury Red, 16GB RAM, 2666MHz, Samsung EVO Super 970 M.2 1TB drive, Gigabyte RTX 2070, WinForce 8GB, Phantom Blue, Evolv Shift Air ITX chassis. Everything seems to work fine on my ASROCK board.

Now regarding the problem: when I power on, I see the Asus ROG splash screen and the message says "Press F2 or DEL to enter UEFI BIOS settings." Trying to press either key doesn’t work and it doesn’t boot into Windows 10. On my ASUS board, the Boot diode is lit (white), which suggests a boot device issue. I’m unsure if the screen freezes or if the keyboard isn’t functioning properly. However, pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL restarts the PC and shows the splash again, and I can toggle the Num Lock.

In short, I can’t get to the Windows installation on my M.2 drive and can’t enter BIOS to fix any boot problems. I’ve tried several things: using a different keyboard (USB, but motherboard lacks PS2 ports), plugging it into another USB port, rebuilding the board with minimal components, removing the M.2 drive, updating BIOS via BIOS button and USB slot, unplugging all USB devices, resetting BIOS by jumper, shutting down the PC and removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check if the CPU fan 1 is properly connected to the power source.

No, I didn't unplug the power cable or turn off the PSU.

It's connected to the CPU_FAN pins. I removed the motherboard from all cables before doing it. I've tested every key and thoroughly pressed any buttons to see if it responds. The CTRL + ALT + DEL shortcut functions correctly.

Disconnect all external drives and it should start up straight into the BIOS. Check if this occurs as expected.

It doesn't work. Only the single M.2 drive is connected, but it keeps showing the splash screen even after unplugging it.

Attempt to power down Windows from a USB drive, then mount it on an additional hard drive or similar storage device.

No response, it doesn't start from the USB drive, the diode still shows a boot problem. I've also used an Ubuntu live USB without success. I'm stuck on the Asus screen. Appreciate all the advice received so far.

I also attempted to update all previous BIOS versions, progressing from the earliest to the latest. The results didn't appear to be effective.
