Hi, I just assembled my first PC using some spare components and a few new parts from an old 8-year-old machine that failed. When I powered it on for the first time, there was no boot screen and the CPU debug light was lit. I swapped out the motherboard with a fresh one. Still, after booting, neither the debug light nor any BIOS screen appeared. All fans are running normally, even the mouse light is on, but I haven’t seen the BIOS page yet. Someone mentioned that a BIOS update might be necessary for my GPU and CPU to work together properly. Also noticed the power button light flickers unpredictably when I turn the PC on—uncertain if it’s related. Please help, thanks! CPU: Intel i3 12100f (new) Motherboard: MSI Pro H610M-G DDR4 (new) RAM: Samsung 8GB sticks (M378A1G43EB1-CPB, 8 years old) Graphics Card: XFX SWFT210 rx 6600 (new) Cooler: Intel stock cooler (new) SSD: Samsung 870 QVO 2TB (5-7 years old) Secondary SSD: Crucial P3 500GB M.2 SSD (new) Power Supply: FSP HV Pro (2 years old) Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit Case: Deepcool Matrixxx I’m still not sure what’s going on.

Are you certain your RAM is DDR4? It seems some sticks might not fit at all.

It seems quite unpredictable; I thought there might be insufficient power, but after checking PCPartPicker, my PSU is 200W above what’s needed.

The illumination is located close to the power switch on the body, and all the motherboard indicators are disabled (even the debug lights).

Everything proceeded without issues? - CPU: Intel i3 12100f (new). After swapping the motherboard, the seller assisted with installation and it worked perfectly. Did you verify all the connections just to be certain? It would have been tough on focus if things had gone wrong. Mobo: MSI Pro H610M-g DDR4 (new) rewired everything possibly a few times already without any problems. 8-pin EPS cable for the CPU, 6+2-pin PCIe for the GPU, main 24-pin ATX, plus SATA cables for the SSD. Also, the case cables include HD audio, USB, reset, power, and HDD LED wires. I’ve reviewed the conversation above. RAM: Samsung 8GB sticks (M378A1G43EB1-CPB) – about two years old. Is the GPU fan running and showing life? - GPU: XFX SWFT210 rx 6600 (new). Fans are spinning fine. Did you take off the sticker and apply cooling paste? - CPU cooler: Intel stock cooler (new). Yes, I reapplied thermal paste twice; the stock unit doesn’t come with a sticker. Is this format clear? OS reinstall? - Boot SSD: Samsung 870 QVO 2TB (5-7 years old). Not sure, my previous system used it and Windows 10 should work. Shouldn’t matter. - Secondary SSD: Crucial P3 500GB M.2 SSD (new). It’s functioning properly. Fans are turning on. PSU: FSP HV Pro (2 years old). Fan is on—just an update. I tested my RAM sticks on another spare PC and it booted fine, so RAM might not be the issue. Regarding the BIOS, I’d need a spare CPU to fit since I can’t access the BIOS page to flash it. It’s quite frustrating to find. I’m trying to minimize that effort. Anyway, attached is the corroded heat sink—most white parts look damaged.
