Initial setup – cable without any connections
I assembled my initial complete PC yesterday. All components are powered and functioning, though I’m having trouble adjusting the fan speeds or RGB settings even with the ARGB header connected. There are two cables from the fan controller area/front panel—one is a standard four-pin fan connector, and the other I’m unsure about. It looks like there’s no connection from the case controller to the motherboard for the case fans, so they’re running at full speed via a SATA power link. I suspect the extra fan connector exists if I later want to add a fourth fan. The build uses a CIT Slammer case, featuring three ARGB fans and an Asrock B6550M Pro RS motherboard. I’ve checked the manual guides but can’t find details about the two-pin connector.
What controller are you employing? Should I include pictures if it was provided with the purchase.
The setup includes three fans—two at the front and one at the back—each addressable. They’re connected in a daisy chain using a SATA and a 3-pin RGB, with the two-pin visible near the top of the front panel where connectors are located. It appears to be a basic hub, given the inexpensive build. Both fans are powered in and reach full speed without adjustable settings for either fan or lighting. My main concern is the two-pin connection and whether it’s a front panel component essential for operation. I’ve searched online but found no relevant videos or details about this specific model beyond what’s advertised. I’ve seen similar CIT cases discussing SATA fans, but none cover controlling these particular fans or showing the two-pin configuration.
It seems unlikely. It might be using RGB or some kind of power transmission, making it look more like a power source than a receiver. If it actually draws power, there would likely be visible components for the pins. Your case probably doesn’t have a clear control element for fan speed—PC controls fans via a separate unit, and directly powering the fan from the PSU would cause it to run at full speed. Unless there’s a dedicated fan controller connected, it might just be a cable for case fans to keep things tidy. If you’re unsure, checking the manufacturer’s site could help clarify.
