The beta started at 7pm AEST in Australia, and I've been gaming for roughly two hours. Here are my observations. The main issue was stuttering on the primary menus, which would occasionally freeze. In-game this never happened. After some practice adjusting to the unusual controls, I think the Imperials are currently too strong. Every match I played, they won, making it almost pointless to join the rebels if you're assigned to them—you won't succeed. The air seems controlled by either the rebels or the Imperials. Personally, I believe there should be a cap on the number of aircraft in the sky at once. For example, if the rebels have none, limit it to two; but instead you see four or six Imperial fighters swooping around and overwhelming anyone on the ground. When a rebel pilot decides to fly, they get wiped out by six. Some pros include the graphics, which run smoothly on my 390, though I do experience occasional black flickering every half hour—still beta territory. It's a fun game when you're playing as the Imperials. I'll add more thoughts later and share my benchmark results for the R9 390.

A lot of technical details will be resolved since it's still in beta. If you've seen the SW movie series and played earlier versions, you might recognize the recurring theme of a single dominant team as the central challenge. Thanks for your initial thoughts. I'm really looking forward to this game.

Yes I do realize a beta, things will probably change. But it has to be balanced, it's not fun knowing you're gonna loose because the game put you on the rebel side.

I question they’ll get it fixed, because battlefield already has issues and hasn’t improved much. It’s just something DICE struggles to manage well. When I first played on battlefield (during the early BFBC2 era), it was an issue and has stayed that way, especially if it wasn’t controlled by one team in the jets—it turned into a major problem with helicopters in BC2.
