Have you ever set up Windows plus all your favorite programs at once? You might be overdoing it—macOS is more than just an operating system; it’s an entire ecosystem, so installing everything at once can be overwhelming.

This change from Mojave to Catalina is about the same as a Windows 10 update from 1903 to 1909—very little difference in speed. For software, setting up homebrew gives you a lightweight package manager, much like on Linux.

I assumed you meant something important, such as initial impressions or key aspects. But before we proceed, do you need an upgrade?

Duration isn't clearly defined. It's difficult to assess whether things are typical.

It took almost an hour from turning it on until it was ready, but a Windows laptop only needed about 15 minutes.

It did complete the process, though I thought it might have been stuck. Remember, when you're downloading, the connection must be online—it can change easily.

I meant nothing by stirring up a debate. I just noticed the procedure didn’t look as efficient as I thought it would. Probably my expectations were too high, and honestly, I’m not really a fan of apples—more like dislikes.

The file transfer was normally fast, but what followed was unexpected.

You're referring to the fact that upgrading from one Windows version to the latest release can take around 15 minutes. This is normal because updates happen annually, so the process aligns with the yearly schedule.
