I purchased the Amd Ryzen 1600, gigabyte B350M-D3H, and corsair vengeance ddr4 16gb 3200mhz. Have you ever overclocked before? Would someone with experience be able to assist me?

Hello!
Make sure your motherboard is up to date with the latest BIOS before you increase the memory, since I encountered problems with my RAM and CPU combination.
Regarding CPU overclocks, I’ll need to follow up soon as I haven’t adjusted those settings yet, but I’ll get back to you quickly.
I hope this helps!

Hey! I've already updated my BIOS, but I'm still struggling to reach a stable 3.6GHz. Running the OCCT CPU Linpack test makes my CPU overheat to over 80°C and causes crashes.

What voltage are you operating at? Does your case have fans actively circulating air through it?

I own the nzxt h440 with only stock fans. My voltage is set to 1.25, and I've been able to run 3.6ghz so far, which works fine for my DDR4 3200mhz system that normally caps at 2666mhz. However, I'm struggling to get it to reach 3200mhz. With this configuration, I ran the OC CPU: linpack for an hour without any crashes, and the top temperature stayed at 75°C.

So you achieved stability? But the temperatures are still quite high—likely your default fan profile is being used. My R5 1600 with the stock cooler reaches 77°C in Linpack, which requires 1.35V for stability in Prime95, but 1.36V in Linpack. The fan runs at 80-90% speed under those conditions. I've also applied Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut paste to the CPU, though my case, even with two fans, feels outdated and has poor airflow. To reach stable 3.8GHz in Prime I need 1.39V, so I'll stick with [email protected].

It depends on your specific needs. Ryzen Master offers more detailed control, while Easy Tune is simpler and faster for basic overclocking. Choose based on how advanced you are and the stability you require.
