Individuals craft PC motherboards and upgrade CPUs
Hello everyone, I own an HP prebuilt PC with an AMD A8 7600B case running the HP 285 Pro G2 MT Business. I’m planning to upgrade the CPU and motherboard. I need a Ryzen 2700 and would appreciate some motherboard recommendations for my PC cabinet. Thanks!
Consider using a B450 "Max" series motherboard or a fresh B550 board with a standard ATX case. Upgrading the case itself would enhance the appearance and provide better airflow compared to a ready-made case, and it would also indicate you've already replaced the GPU and power supply.
Upgraded to a faulty PSU, please look for a model like CX450 or 550 which should work with your 2700.
Also as @gloop points out, a 450W power supply is quite far from what you'd need for a 2700W system and likely a GTX 1060. You'd definitely be overdoing it and taking unnecessary risks.
You're correct, but my parents don't support the upgrade. I'm going to keep it brief and save costs wherever I can.
Why are you asking about this? The buyer wants a 2700, but why not a B550 or third-gen features?
The main issue is whether my situation qualifies for a new motherboard.
