You should connect the access point to your router via Ethernet to improve coverage throughout the house. Running a separate cable is not necessary if you're using an existing Ethernet port.

The device is close to my living room Smart TV, which remains connected via Wi-Fi. I aim to install a PoE switch so the TV can be powered directly, while linking a wireless access point to the network.

Can you connect a cable directly to the device? A weak wireless signal might not be ideal.
