Increasing speed of a device beyond its normal limits.
Hey there! I’m looking to boost my GPU, CPU, and RAM a bit to get the most out of my 4K OLED TV. Since I’m new to tech, I’d really appreciate your guidance on safely pushing everything to its limit. The motherboard is an Asus ROG Strix X570-F, the GPU is an Asus TUF Gaming 3080 Ti, the CPU is a Ryzen 9 5900X, and the RAM is G.SKILL TridentZ CL36-3600. Let’s get started!
For the CPU, turn off PBO and consider other options to avoid reduced performance. With RAM, enable XMP for beginners and skip overclocking entirely. GPU tuning can be tricky—download MSI Afterburner, set power to max, adjust fan curves aggressively, then gradually increase core clock in 25MHz steps until instability appears, then revert to stable settings. For memory, follow similar steps but use 100MHz increments and watch for performance drops. Undervolting is simpler and a good starting point.
In past AGESAs using PBO, profits were solidly above average compared to the market. The risk comes when specific tasks become challenging. Here are the configurations I apply on my 5900X with AGESA 1208: 240/160/190 all-core -25 boost override at +50.
It's great to hear you're interested! I haven't come across PBO before, so I'll take a look at it. The GPU overclocking technique you mentioned sounds smart, and I'm excited to give it a try.
I will definitely download it and check how far I can go. Your preset will really make a big difference in appreciating it.
I prefer AGESA 1203 for maximum gain, it handles the full 5150 across many cores, though performance may feel very hot under load.
