Increasing maritime traffic in South Carolina
I've been reading some documentation recently, and I read that your ship can get damaged/destroyed. Is this permanent? I know that there is insurance, but what if you don't have insurance? Is your ship gone for good? What happens if you don't have a ship? Can you play the game without one, or buy more with in-game currency?
The insurance costs will be low, so securing your vessels is essential. Even if you lose your ship, there are still options—like borrowing from a bank for a new vessel and repaying it later. You could also earn money by working for other players as a crew member to fund the purchase of a new ship. There are many possibilities, so don’t worry. The main focus should be on preventing death, as the penalties in SC are quite severe. On the RSI site there are two intriguing articles: one about the "death of the spaceman" and another more recent piece on the healing system. I don’t recall the title of the latter, and the site is currently blocked in my office, so I can’t provide links right now. Cheers
Your vessel will vanish permanently without insurance, though each new ship includes a few months of coverage. When it suffers damage beyond repair, you’ll receive the original craft back—items like cargo and extra weapons aren’t covered. Maintaining insurance won’t be difficult; it’s affordable and won’t significantly disrupt your routine or earnings. If you lack a ship, consider earning through alternatives such as renting weapons or joining missions with other players to share profits. Game currency can be exchanged for real money, but only in limited quantities to preserve economic balance. I hope this addresses your concerns—most details are covered in the FAQ here on this forum.
All items in the entire game can be obtained using in-game currency. The ships found in the RSI shop for real money serve as another method to help fund the development.
