Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to the team for some advice. With ten years in the PC industry now behind me, I’ve switched to welding. I’m not familiar with all the latest tech. I noticed my GPU usage is nearly full (3080 Ti) during downloads with Battle.net client, while the CPU stays at just 4%. Isn’t it normal for the GPU to handle that much? Shouldn’t the CPU be doing more work like compiling or decompressing? Could anyone share some insights and tips? Thanks in advance. All PC and power settings are optimized for peak performance. — TLucas

Consider checking the settings and disabling the confirmation next to the download speed limit. Last night while attempting to download the latest update, I overlooked removing that option, resulting in a slow upload of only 50kb per second. Swiping off the check mark and letting the download reach its full capacity cut the time in half compared to the previous hour-long delay. This change might not solve your GPU issue but will definitely improve your download speed.

I haven't adjusted any download restrictions. The speed is about 12-15 MB/s, which isn't that slow. Appreciate the feedback!

The latest nvidia drivers seem to cause the GPU to consume excessive resources when not in use or performing simple operations. This issue appeared on my 2080Ti after disabling the hardware scheduling feature in Windows settings. A reboot resolved it. Some users report higher GPU activity with certain RTX models, including RTX 30-series and RTX 2000-series, as noted in Nvidia release notes. The problem might be related to the HW-S setting or the desktop window manager service, but it could stem from other factors.
