Cool thanks! I'll read up some. I opened a ticket with MSI. Maybe I'm just missing something. I've tried everything I could think of. Guess I'll just use the Intel Utility if I need a boost for some reason for now. Everything runs great otherwise. Here's a pic with puke cranked up for effect.
The system keeps showing a core ratio of x47, which is not ideal. It might be worth checking the older BIOS version. Reverting with M-Flash could work without damaging your board if done carefully. I haven’t tried it before.
It just won't take for some reason. I'll also share how the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility pushes my CPU to 5.1 no problem. I'll post the Cinebench R20 results including temps as well. Either I'm not disabling a setting that limits the ratio, the bios is doodoo, or my MB is double doodoo. I don't understand why it's not working.
I'm trying to figure out the amperage being drawn but it's not clear. My Cinebench R20 results show voltages around 1.34V and 1.33V across cores, with a max CPU power of about 189W. Temperatures stayed under 79°C during the test. I'm thinking about getting better equipment to measure amperage and maybe upgrading the motherboard. My kid might be interested in a higher-end board, but he'd need an LGA1200 processor. His current setup uses an 8700 non-K and RTX 2070 on a B360M Pro VDH, which works well for him. I just installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212 BE on his 8700 and he's really happy with it.
