I’m planning to share this in the appropriate section. I installed a new network card for one of my Exsi servers and added a 10GB card to the system. The chipset is Intel X540, and after testing, these cards perform exceptionally well in server environments. Some budget models need driver installation on ESXI 6.7, but the issue arises when upgrading to newer versions—they often stop working. I also cleaned the dust from inside the machine, which had been running since November 15, 2017. The case has wheels, but I never removed the side panel. It contains five 140mm fans and one 480mm fan, plus an attached AIO radiator with a push-pull design. The radiator is 240mm in size. I regret not taking the time to open the side panel earlier. The front and top panels appear intact, though. I’m relieved the machine is now operational. The side panel will need to wait until the next upgrade. For context, the system meets its specs—running AMD Threadripper 1950 with all cores at 4GHz. I forgot to overclock it when setting it up as a server, and it’s been stable since November 2017. The CPU has extra power going to the Folding @Home service. The motherboard is an MSI X399 Gaming Pro Carbon, equipped with 96GB RAM, DDR4 3200, and a 2TB Samsung 970 EVO drive. Total storage reaches 38TB, with a Corsair TX1000M power supply. The machine has operated continuously for 276 days, with reboots caused by power outages. I’ve logged the hours the machine has been running on the network—over 20,252 hours.
