Increase memory speed for better performance.
I'm uncertain whether this should be included in troubleshooting, but I hope someone can offer clearer guidance on how to boost RAM speeds to their rated rates. I assumed it would be straightforward to activate the XMP profile in BIOS, but upon waking up this morning I found the system booting without any debug indicators and no power reaching my peripherals. After clearing the CMOS, it seems the process is more involved than I thought, or that my hardware might be faulty. I came across some online discussions about memory training failures, wondering if this could relate to it, but I’m not sure. Ultimately, my main concerns are figuring out why the RAM won’t boot and whether I should manually adjust it or replace it with a better option. I’m using an MSI X570 gaming pro carbon Wi-Fi motherboard, a Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, and four sticks of G.Skill Ripjaw V Series RAM at 16 GB, 3600 MHz. I can’t see the exact model details of my RAM, but it appears to be a red, older model with specifications like CAS Latency 19 and timing values of 19-20-20-40. My worry is that whatever caused the failure to boot, it happened after a period of inactivity—possibly due to overheating or a fresh installation. After seven hours off, it refused to start. Once the BIOS was reset and the overclock removed, it began working again.
