Incorrect Recall?
It really doesn't matter much about the Intel memory purchase. If it only starts from one of the memory slots—those left two are one channel, the right two another—it suggests either the motherboard or CPU is faulty. I’d reach out to AMD support first, as they’re generally considered more reliable, and swapping a CPU is simpler than replacing an entire board (or getting help from a friend if possible)
You can check your CPU performance by running benchmark tests or monitoring system metrics. Swapping your 3700X into a new board isn’t directly possible, but you can test it by connecting it to the same motherboard and using compatible software. Make sure the hardware matches before testing.
I understand that, but I’m telling you these two channels aren’t working. Even when I insert one stick, it doesn’t boot from those bays. My yellow dimm light keeps staying on.
That's a solid approach. However, just because the slots share the same color doesn't guarantee they belong to the same channel. To activate dual-channel functionality, your system must have memory written into each channel's slot. The color coding serves as a guide to ensure proper placement and dual-channel use. If you're unsure, consult a wiring diagram for your motherboard.
The manual doesn't display the channels and doesn't reference them at all. It seems like the issue lies with the board.
