Incorporating a GPU into an HP Elitedesk triggers error beeping sounds.
Hi everyone, I own an HP Elitedesk 800 G5 SFF (9th gen Intel) with three monitors—two dedicated to DP and one VGA. I’m considering adding a fourth display but hit a wall since there are no more ports left. I thought using the old AMD Firepro v3900 GPU might free up a port, as it functions well on our older desktops. However, when I connect it to this new machine, I get three long beeps followed by three short sounds when I power it on. I’ve checked both PCIe slots but haven’t found a solution. Any advice or alternatives would be greatly appreciated!
Could the power supply deliver sufficient energy to the card?
The card connects via the slot. The Firepro v3900 consumes 50 watts. The power supply offers ample margin compared to this requirement.
